 “What is the difference between a PPO vs HMO?”

Preferred Provider Organizations (PPOs) and Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs) are the main networks attached to insurance companies used to understand providers. Differences include network size, ability to see specialists, costs, and out-of-network coverage. However, the main differences are that PPOs give you a flexible network, gaining you access to Nationwide coverage to doctors and facilities without needing a referral to see a specialist.

HMOs run on a very restricted and limited network, only giving you access to a handful of doctors and facilities in the area.
